First and foremost, the Dewsbury & Batley Group is here to help you become a better Car driver, whether you took your L test recently or 50 years ago. We will help you at your pace, showing you driving techniques taught to Police Response drivers. The cost is kept low because we are a registered charity and those who help are all volunteers who support the aims of the IAM and are here to help you . We do this by offering Associate Membership for car drivers and provide trained volunteer Observers who will go out with you in your car, assess your driving, and guide you towards becoming a better driver. There are two different ways you can benefit , the 'Skill for life' programme  guides you to the Advanced Driving  exam or DriveCheck which is an assessment drive only with no pass or fail. For further details of either method just click on the menu bar

We meet on the first Monday of every month (except Bank Holidays, when it will be the following Monday), admission is free and everyone is welcome. It’s an ideal opportunity to meet new people socially, find out about what is going on within the group and listen to an interesting talk on a variety of topics. Sharing our skills with other serious drivers and keeping up-to-date on club and driving matters.

Statistics show that drivers who have completed the Skill for Life course passing the Advanced Driving test are 50-70% less likely to be involved in an accident. Don't you owe it to yourself, your passengers and other road users to play your part in improving road safety?

The Dewsbury and Batley Group has a pass rate of over 90%

The IAM is the national body, with over 120,000 members, which promotes and runs the Advanced Driving Test and is an influential voice on road safety.
